New to the concept of Frolics? Whether you're an old time-wimey family who's been here for ages and remembers the Frolics of yesteryear and how much fun they were, or part of the newer families who may never have heard of this fun way to raise funds for the school, we've got your most pressing questions covered here.

What the heck is a Frolic?

It’s a fun time with good people.

The term “frolic” suggests a sense of fun, excitement, and playfulness, which are key elements of the fundraising events that can be hosted by PFS family and friends for the benefit of the school.

It was quite the popular fundraising tradition many years ago at PFS and fostered a great sense of community amongst families, and we’re looking to bring it back with the same creative and fun spirit.

Why should I partake in these "Frolics"?

Glad you asked. Here's why—because it brings people together for a good cause (our school) while fostering a sense of camaraderie, joy, and philanthropy within the community. It's a chance for attendees to make a positive impact while having a great time and creating lasting memories. And stop using those quotes when you say Frolic.

I really want to attend a Frolic, but I can't swing that ticket price.

While the purpose of our frolics are to use community-building events to raise funds, we understand that there will be some instances where the Frolic ticket price may be out of reach for some Friends.

There’s a few ways we hope we can help.

1. Consider reaching out to the Frolic team to inquire if complimentary tickets exist for a certain Frolic.

2. Additionally, ask about hosting a Frolic to be able to attend a Frolic at no cost. We'll give you a promo code to use for another event (unless it's sold out).

3. Finally, if you’re currently receiving Financial Aid from PFS, inquire about special pricing for some Frolics. Send an email to friends@princetonfriends.org to see if any discounts are available.

Oooh! I just thought of a Frolic idea but I can't be the one to host it!

No worries, that’s how we came up with most of this list of Frolics! It was a couple of introverts and one extrovert who came up with some ideas one day and wrangled in other parents to help out and then started this snowball effect.

We love new ideas for Frolics so be sure to share it with the Frolic team at ideas@pfsfrolics.org and we can share it with the community in our listings as an event that is looking for a host. Once a host is found, we can coordinate it and list it for all to buy tickets! Since you came up with the idea, be sure to ask the Frolic team for updates so you can stay as involved as you want!

Alright, alright. I'm sold. This sounds like fun. How do I host a Frolic?

If you’ve got an idea for event you’d like to host, reach out to the Frolic team with the idea at ideas@pfsfrolics.org, how many people you can host, where it could be hosted, and a date you have in mind.

We understand that you’re donating your time and some ideas might require some expenses, so make sure to let us know what possible expenses (if any) you'd want to get reimbursed for so we can include it in the ticket price.

If you have a good time hosting a frolic, and it’s the talk of the town, consider hosting another session for those who missed out on the initial one. It will continue to help the school, and give us something to look forward to again!

I'm super excited now about Frolics and want to share it with soooo many people, who can I tell about it?

Glad to see you're excited now. We intended these to be events that can be shared amongst the PFS Community.  But the PFS Community can be more than just currently enrolled parents and faculty/staff. It includes Alumni and their parents, Summer camp families (especially those who keep coming back summer after summer...), and of course Friends and Family. We all have that Aunt Barbara who's heard all the wonderful stories of your kids in PFS and have even joined us for some of the musicals, and wishes they had sent their kids here too...so yes, even Aunt Barbara is welcome in our Frolics!

As much as I enjoyed reading this FAQ, I still have a question...

Darn. I thought we covered it all. No worries, if you didn't find an answer here, it probably hasn't been asked "frequently", but we'd love to help. Feel free to email us at ideas@pfsfrolics.org and one of our Frolic team members will get back to you promptly.
